Turn your notes into a presentation with AI

In short: Ask an AI assistant to turn your notes into a short slide outline first. When the outline is right, paste it into a presentation tool such as Gamma or Canva to make the slides, then tidy them yourself.

Who is this for?

Students with a class presentation, community group volunteers, small business owners and anyone asked to “say a few words” with slides.

What do you need?

How do you do it, step by step?

  1. Gather your notes. Paste everything into one document. Messy is fine.
  2. Ask for an outline first. Use the prompt below. Getting the outline right first saves a lot of fiddling later.
  3. Trim it down. Fewer slides are usually better. Ask the AI to cut it to the most important points.
  4. Make the slides. Paste the outline into Gamma, or use Canva’s design tools, to turn it into slides.
  5. Make it yours. Swap in your own photos, check every fact and number, and practise saying it out loud.

What prompt can you copy?

Copy this, then replace everything in [square brackets] with your own details.

EXAMPLE PROMPT
Please turn my notes below into an outline for a [number]-minute presentation to [who's listening].
Give me about [number] slides. For each slide: a short title, 2 to 4 short dot points, and one sentence I could say out loud.
Use only the information in my notes and flag anything that seems to be missing.

Common questions

Can AI make the whole presentation for me?

It can make a fast first version, but you’ll get a better result by checking the content and adding your own examples and photos.

Which is easier for a beginner, Gamma or Canva?

Gamma is built around turning text into slides. Canva gives you more design control. See our comparison for details.

Do I need PowerPoint?

No. Gamma and Canva work in a web browser, and both can export slides if you need them.
