3 minute guide · Writing

Write an email that sounds like you

Keep your voice. Get a little help with the words.

1

Start with your own rough notes

List the point you need to make and the response you want. You do not need a polished draft.

2

Describe the relationship

Tell the assistant whether you are writing to a friend, colleague or customer. Use placeholders for names.

3

Give it a tone

Ask for warm, clear and direct writing. Add a sample of your own wording if you can safely share it.

4

Read it aloud

Remove anything you would not say. Check commitments, dates and numbers, then send it yourself.

A prompt to get you started.

Copy this into Claude and replace the parts in square brackets with your own details.

YOUR STARTING PROMPT

Turn these notes into a clear, friendly email: [your notes]. The reader is [relationship]. Keep it under 120 words. Use natural Australian English, avoid sales language, and do not invent details.
